Matt Weiser grossly misrepresents both Republican federal lands policy and my leadership of the House subcommittee that oversees it.
Our committee seeks to restore responsible stewardship of our national forests and protect the public’s right to enjoy the public’s lands.
Congressman McClintock is the Chairman of the Federal Lands Subcommittee. The subcommittee held a legislative hearing on draft legislation for the "National Park Service Centennial Act" (authored by Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop). The Park Service will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2016, and the legislation addresses the second century of the National Park Service. Witnesses at the hearing included Jonathan Jarvis, Director, National Park Service.
