Congressional Art Competition
Each spring the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.
The winning entry from each congressional district across the United States is displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol. The winning student from each congressional district is invited, along with one guest, to the unveiling of the exhibit and a reception in Washington, D.C., and is provided two round-trip airline tickets for the occasion.
Instead of selecting a specific theme for the 2020 contest, the 4th Congressional District will be seeking patriotic artwork benefitting display in the U.S. Capitol. Students submitting artwork should be able to relate their work to reflect pride in country, America's symbols/icons, traditions, etc.
Artwork should be delivered to the Congressman's District Office by Friday, April 10, 2020. The artwork entered must include a completed Student Informaton and Release Form. Additionally, the 2020 Rules for Teachers and Students can be found here.
For additonal information, please contact Congressman McClintock's district office at 916-786-5560.
