January 19, 2018 Press Release
The House yesterday passed a bill to continue to fund the government through February 16th to accommodate ongoing discussions over budget caps, immigration policy and other issues. If Senate Democrats use the Senate cloture rule to prevent the bill from being taken up, the government will shut down at midnight on January 19th.

With the bill now taking effect, I believe people are about to see their paychecks grow, their job prospects brighten, and their family finances improve.

Congressman Tom McClintock announced that the President of the United States has signed H.R. 381, designating a mountain in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra National Forest as “Sky Point.”  The bill honors Marine SSgt Sky Mote of El Dorado, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 10, 2012.

Thank you for scheduling H.R. 3607 for markup. This bill addresses a nagging problem at Yosemite National Park involving a medical clinic that has operated in the Valley since 1929. Like other medical clinics in our national parks, it serves the park and concessionaire employees, their families, and tens of thousands of daily park visitors.

Lincoln once reminded us “that we can succeed only by concert.” We demonstrated that maxim with the enactment of the Tahoe provisions in the Water Infrastructure Improvements Act last December. That wouldn’t have been possible without Republicans and Democrats coming together in Washington.

Remarks by Congressman Tom McClintock
Town Hall Meeting
Jackson, California
June 19, 2017

I want to thank you all for coming this evening.

Last week, a terrible event occurred in Alexandria, and I believe it is a warning of the road our society has taken recently.  This is not a reflection on the political motivations of the assailant.  We all know there is a lunatic fringe on both sides of the political spectrum, and the next attack could just as easily come from one side as the other.
