HR 3350 - Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013

Congressman Tom McClintock voted YES on HR 3350 today and issued the following statement:

HR 3350 – Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013: YES. It is important not to over-promise on this measure. It will not get back the five million health insurance policies that have already been cancelled due to Obamacare. It MIGHT prevent some cancellations that might otherwise occur in the future. However, to the extent that it does, it will mean higher premiums for those who have been forced into the Obamacare exchanges. Any way you cut it this is an unmitigated nightmare. Ultimately, there is no substitute for the complete repeal of Obamacare and the restoration of a decentralized, free market, patient-centered healthcare system.

Legislative Information: H.R. 3350 allows health insurance issuers who have health coverage in the individual market as of January 1, 2013, to continue to offer that coverage for sale outside of the exchanges through 2014.
